We move pianos across Utah — and long-distance work has taken us as far as Dallas, Seattle, and Phoenix.
Founded by a Steinway- and Baldwin-trained mover, our team has handled 8,000 to 10,000 pianos over the past 12+ years. That training shows up in every move, every storage hand-off, and every tuning we touch.
Read our story →Safe and Sound Pianos was built on years of experience moving pianos for the country's leading dealers. Our founder cut his teeth at Steinway and Baldwin dealerships, and the team has collectively handled somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000 pianos.
That's where the discipline comes from: you don't rush a piano, you don't let your nephew help, and you bring the right crew and the right equipment every single time.
We carry $2 million in general liability insurance, and we never skimp on workers. Most jobs we send three trained movers. Bigger or trickier jobs we send four or more. Two guys is doable on simpler moves because our crew is trained that way, but our default is always more hands than fewer. Customers regularly forget to mention the basement, the split-level, or the doorway that won't quite clear, and a full crew gives us the margin to handle whatever shows up.
Our pricing is on the website, not behind a phone call. Use the calculator on our pricing page for an instant estimate, and text or call us when you're ready to confirm.
If your piano is worth moving carefully, we're the team for the job.
Safe and Sound Pianos is owned and run by Jonny and Mote, who handle scheduling, crew leadership, and the harder pianos personally. Around them is a crew that doesn't come from Craigslist.
Most of our movers come from Utah's rugby community. We sponsor and help run the Utah Rugby League Association and back several other local rugby teams. Rugby guys are who we know, who we trust, and who tend to be exactly the kind of strong, steady, problem-solving people you want carrying your piano.
The roster rotates. We've got a core group that runs every week and a wider bench of flex workers we pull in for full-house jobs and long-distance moves. Every guy has been vouched for by a teammate, a former crew member, or a referral from inside the network. Nobody walks in cold.
Standard crew size is three. Smaller jobs we'll send two; bigger or trickier ones, four or more. The lead on every move has done dozens of pianos with us before going lead, so when our guys show up, you're getting a trained crew, not a body count.
A few stops from over a decade of moves, music videos, and on-location shoots.
